Cyberpaper : For almost five years, I have worked to demonstrate that "scaling out" works. In May of 1997, I built and ran the One Billion Transactions Per Day (1BTPD) demonstration, demonstrating a working system, executing the DebitCredit workload with a cluster of twenty off-the-shelf servers and standard networking infrastructure. I am now working on building a CyberWall, consisting of 1,000 commodity PCs clustered together.
